The hotel was an easy base for enjoying a central area. the staff at Econo Lodge made our stay during the snow storm easier. the brand-new room had a comfortable bed and coffee, making for a very enjoyable stay. All the staff were genuinely helpful, and we had an easy check-in process. the location was quiet and convenient, with the Vermont State House just a pleasant stroll away from the property.

I really liked leaving. First of all...they never heard of me or my reservation!!! They tried to put us in a room that stunk of mold!! Offered another filthy, disgusting room which we also refused. This was without question the dirtiest, most revolting motel I ever saw!!! I would not let my dog spend the night in such a place!! I will be contacting the Econo-Lodge Corporation about this. I may call the Health Dept. For the city of Montpelier...This place needs a bulldozer!!

cleanleness of the sheets & bed and the good morning breakfast.
Room and batroom cleanleness was so & so and the air conditioning system was so noisy that we had to shut it down and take the heat to fall asleep

It was less expensive than a Bed & Breakfast, which seems to be the majority of places to stay in the area I was looking at. It was perfectly adequate for one night while being on the road.
It was a bit run down, but not bad. Considering the condition of the place, I would say it was also somewhat overpriced, but I know that area of Vermont tends to be pricy.

Great spot near a theater where you can catch a show. the rooms won't break the bank and they have comfy beds. 🎭

all basic needs met, clean bathrooms and good beds, responsive staff
needs an update--new carpet especially. didn't like how there was no window to exterior, but that would be hard to change due to the design of hotel some people stopped us as they stood at check-in to ask us if the hotel was okay and clean, because by old appearance they had doubts.

We stayed at this motel because other places were all booked. I can say that the beds were comfortable. The fridge was strongly smelling of mildew so unusable. The dust on the baseboards was thick..the carpets were old with damp spots here and there and I had to be sure to use shoes when up at night. The bed was clean..the bathroom was clean and well stocked with good towels , soap etc. The location was perfect for a good nights' sleep as away from main roads but close to services. We booked online so didn't know a thing about the motel....I Say motel as it is a motel, not a hotel. We were thankful to find a place where we wanted to stop for the night on our way home....
The whole place needs an upgrade. Our room was 101..the floors in the hallway under the carpet were squeeky and uneven..obviously an old place with the odours of an old place. I'm sure they did the best they could to fix it up but not a place I would opt for again if there were a newer place available.

This place is a disaster and should be closed down immediately. The rooms smell, are not properly cleaned to receive guest. The wall paper was pealing and seams did not meet obviously not applied professionally, The room curtains lacked the hardware necessary to close correctly to afford guest the privacy every guest deserves. The last and most troubling issue is the rooms did not have heat. November in Vermont and this place rented rooms that did not and could not provide heat to rooms. Guest were never informed that we were registering and paying for rooms that management knew were legally, morally and ethically unfit for occupancy.

This place is disgusting and dirty. We could not find someone to check us in for 25 minutes and kept walking around to look for someone. The whole place smells like mold and mildew. The carpets are disgusting and the room was horrible. One of the two beds in my room had hair in the bed that did not belong to me. The bathroom sink had hair in it still, probably from the last guest. I had to hold my breath walking in the hallway to get to my door because the odor was so horrible. I did not dare eat the breakfast because God only knows what might be in the food. This place needs to be inspected by a health agency and Econolodge should not let their name be attached to this facility.
